The "Notch" System: * 1 Notch = The smallest offset (tightest). # 🏎️ PVC Overspray & Paint Booth Framework
3 Notches = Your current "winners" (0.15 for 1" and 0.20 for 1/2"). ### Project Overview
This repository contains the CAD files and documentation for a modular, collapsible paint booth frame. The system is designed for high-speed production on CoreXY 3D printers (specifically calibrated for the **Elegoo Centauri Carbon**) and utilizes standard PVC piping for the structural skeleton.
6 Notches = The largest offset (loosest). ---
Documentation Entry: "Tolerance tests should be performed whenever switching filament brands or PVC manufacturers. Use the 10mm ring array; the '3-notch' ring represents the gold-standard fit for the current Centauri Carbon calibration." ### 🛠 Hardware Specifications
* **Main Structure:** 1" Schedule 40 PVC ($33.4mm$ OD)
* **Stabilizer Rail:** 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC ($21.3mm$ OD)
* **Base Mounts:** 2x4 Lumber (Footers)
* **Connectors:** 3D Printed Custom Hubs (4.0mm Wall Thickness)
### 📐 Structural Components
1. **Front Hubs (x2):** 3-Way 1" sockets for the booth entrance corners.
2. **Hybrid Rear Hubs (x2):** Transitions 1" vertical/side rails to a 1/2" rear cross-brace.
3. **Floor Flanges (x4):** Heavy-duty sockets with wide-bore screw holes for 2x4 footer attachment.
---
### 🚀 Printing & Calibration
The integrity of this booth relies on a high-tolerance friction fit. Before printing the main hubs, you **must** perform a tolerance check.
* **Tolerance Standard:** * **1" Pipe:** $+0.15mm$ offset
* **1/2" Pipe:** $+0.20mm$ offset
* **Calibration Files:** See the [`/calibration`](./calibration/README.md) subfolder for ring-test arrays and notched identification guides.
#### Recommended Print Settings:
* **Walls:** 4 Minimum (for structural leverage)
* **Infill:** 25% Gyroid
* **Supports:** Tree Supports (Touching Buildplate)
* **Orientation:** Vertical ("Standing") to maximize socket strength.
---
### 📝 Assembly Instructions
1. **Foundation:** Screw the 4 Floor Flanges into your 2x4 lumber footers.
2. **Verticals:** Insert 1" PVC uprights into the flanges.
3. **Skeleton:** Connect the top 1" side rails using the Front and Rear Hubs.
4. **Stabilize:** Slide the 1/2" PVC rail into the hybrid ports on the Rear Hubs.
5. **Enclosure:** Wrap the frame in 4-mil or 6-mil plastic sheeting and secure with clips or tape.
### ⚠️ Maintenance & Safety
* **No Glue Required:** The calibrated friction fit allows for tool-less knockdown and storage.
* **Airflow:** If mounting an extraction fan, tether it directly to the 1/2" rear stabilizer rail for center-weight distribution.
